Verdello lemons

Verdello is Sicily's summer lemon. It comes from a traditional technique called forzatura: in midsummer the trees go without water for a few weeks, then irrigation resumes, so they flower again out of season and the fruit ripens the following summer.

Thin green skin, intense aroma, sharp juice and few seeds: perfect for granita, lemonade and summer cooking. Harvested from May to September.
